Description

Hawthorn is a very common plant, widely used in hedges.

Height: 3 - 5m

Leaves: Deeply lobed alternate leaves.

Flowers: Clusters of white 5-petalled flowers

Stems: Small tree or large bush. Mid-brown bark cracking with age. Branch-tips bare large thorns.

Fruit: Small oval red fruits borne in bunches. The fruits have rather dry yellow flesh and a single seed inside.
