Cap: 5-12cm smooth. Cream, yellowing with age.
Gills: Free and crowded. Pale pinky-grey at first becoming chocolate brown
Stem: Tall, same colour as cap. Large pendulous ring.
Spores: Purple-brown
Flesh: White. Smell of aniseed.
Habitat: On the ground in mixed woodland
