Description

A naturalised escapee from medicinal herb gardens. Originally, a Mediterranean plant.

Height: 50 - 80cm

Leaves: Large and oval with a wavy margin. Hairy above and below

Flowers: The flowers are the most distinguishing feature of Borage. They have down-turned clusters of 5-petalled blue flowers with white centre and black stamens

Stems: Thick, fleshy and covered in stiff hairs.

Look-a-likes: Similar in growth and appearance to Comfrey. Distinguished by the flowers - star-shaped rather than bell-shaped.
